Often, people who ask about a program’s success rates are really asking whether the time or financial investment will be worth it, or if they’re making the right choice. Important decisions almost always come with fear and uncertainty, and that’s OK.
Success is an individually defined goal. One person’s definition of success may not be sufficient for another. Success is personalized and defined differently for each client, family member, and program. Also, whether or not others succeed does not determine one’s own ability to succeed.
Providing an accurate success rate for a treatment program is difficult due to the nature of tracking every client, as well as the many variables around what defines and contributes to success in recovery. For example, a client may stop using their drug of choice but never choose to repair broken relationships. Or, a client may abstain from pornography but continue to avoid emotional intimacy with their spouse.
Some programs will advertise ‘success rates’ as a marketing tool for potential clients and their families, but it requires clients to remain in contact with the program after discharge and provide honest feedback. At HopeQuest, we have a 94% completion rate, meaning most men complete our 12-week program according to their assigned treatment plan. We equip clients with the tools they need for long-term recovery and help them address whatever challenges they are currently facing, so they can continue to create the future they want going forward.
We have witnessed countless men whose stories have transformed into something beyond what they could have imagined for themselves, as well as families that have discovered new life and a renewed hope for the future. This remarkable change is the direct result of individuals making a conscious decision to be vulnerable, address trauma, and learn how to face conflict and difficult emotions in healthy ways. Today, they recognize the value of their investment, and we are grateful to have played a part in their journey.
That’s how we define success at HopeQuest.
