God is a God who feels. He created us to feel, and it is our capacity to feel that allows us to relate to Him and others. If we are not feeling, we are not relating. And if we are not relating, there is no hope for healing. Feelings are the tools God gives us to show us when something is wrong and when things are okay. If I am aware of negative feelings, then I can deal with the problem that is causing them. If I escape from my feelings, then I won’t have healthy relationships with myself, God, or others. And without healthy relationships, my life will become a self-centered vortex of self-gratification and self-destruction — which, by the way, has been the enemy’s plan for me all along.
But God has a better plan for my life… and yours.
