Where Clinical Excellence Meets Christ-Centered Care
At HopeQuest, we believe real transformation happens when Christ-centered care and clinical excellence work hand in hand. Addiction is often rooted in deeper wounds, distorted beliefs, and entrenched patterns that require both skilled clinical intervention and meaningful spiritual transformation. Josh’s story not only reflects this integrated approach, but also illustrates the power of combining evidence-based therapy with an honest surrender before God.
Choosing a New Way Forward: Josh’s Journey of Recovery
Josh’s struggle with substance use and sex addiction began at an early age, fueled by shame, hurt, and isolation. Despite multiple treatment experiences and even a six-year period of sobriety, old patterns slowly resurfaced. What started as small compromises grew into daily hidden use and deep strain on his marriage. Josh first entered HopeQuest through the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) from December 2023 through March 2024. Although he gained valuable insight during that time, he was not yet fully surrendered and continued to manage recovery on his own.
Months later, a crisis in South Florida marked a turning point, exposing how fragile things had become and leaving fractured trust at home. When his wife presented a clear ultimatum, Josh became willing to pursue deeper healing and returned to HopeQuest for residential treatment from December 2024 through February 2025. He arrived physically depleted and emotionally exhausted, ready to stop performing and start getting honest.
During residential care, Josh experienced a level of healing he had not found elsewhere. Rather than focusing only on behavior change, HopeQuest helped him uncover the deeper beliefs and unresolved trauma driving his addiction. Through an integrated approach of clinical care and Christ-centered counseling, Josh found brotherhood, accountability, and a renewed relationship with God. He identifies surrender, rather than effort alone, as the defining shift in this season of recovery.
Today, Josh remains engaged with his community and church, mentors other men, and is rebuilding life with his family. He has rediscovered his love of music, now creating alongside his children, offering a powerful glimpse of the restoration God brings through heart-level healing.
