What Hope Means
Hope is central to everything we do at HopeQuest. Recently, we invited members of our team to share what hope means to them, along with the Scripture that supports their belief. These reflections reveal a hope that restores, sustains, and reminds us that God is always at work in our lives.
Phil Edwards, Director of Volunteer and Family Services
- “Hope means… never having to worry about the outcome of a situation, good or bad, because He reminds us that He has a plan for us in every circumstance we face.”
- Favorite Bible Verse on Hope: “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, “plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB)
Alison Broderick, Director of Communications
- “Hope is… quiet reminders that what is seen is not all that will be. It’s the slightest glimmer of Light amid a vast sea of nothingness; the faintest melody beneath a roaring symphony; the tender squeeze of a baby’s grip.”
- Favorite Bible Verse on Hope: Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. – 1 Peter 1:13 (NIV)
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

BUILDING HOPE 2025
A Campaign to Support the Ministry of HopeQuest
Throughout October, we highlighted hope across various platforms, from sharing staff reflections on social media to expanding the conversation through Troy’s monthly email message. Each piece served as intentional preparation for what comes next: The launch of Building Hope 2025, a year-end giving campaign to support the ministry of HopeQuest.
We invite you to join us in something much bigger than a fundraising campaign. Building Hope is about investing in the lives of men and families who are ready to step out of addiction and into lasting freedom.
Troy captured it perfectly in last month’s message:
HOPE DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN. IT’S BUILT.
We can’t build hope without you. As we enter this season of joyful giving, we encourage you to partner with us in one or more of the following ways.
- Pray – Ask God to bring healing, strength, and breakthrough to those we serve, and to equip our staff with wisdom, endurance, and grace.
- Engage – Follow us on social media and share our posts, tell others about HopeQuest, and advocate for recovery.
- Give – Help fund life-changing treatment by contributing to Building Hope, or by joining HopeBuilders, our monthly giving program.
Every prayer, every gift, and every shared story strengthens the work ahead. Thank you for building hope together with us!
LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS

Equipping Churches to Serve Well
HopeQuest will be participating in the upcoming Community Resource Fair, hosted by Noonday Association of Churches. The event is designed to equip pastors, ministry teams, and community leaders with practical resources related to addiction recovery, mental health, poverty, housing support, trafficking response, and more. HopeQuest will have a table on site for those interested in learning about our programs and referral process.
The fair will take place on Thursday, November 13, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta. The event is free, lunch is included, and advance registration is required. Attendees are welcome to bring individuals who may benefit from the organizations represented, which include partners offering support with food assistance, employment, health care, foster care, immigration, and crisis intervention.

Honoring Faithful Service
This month, we recognize recovery tech Tanner Collins, who will celebrate two years of service at HopeQuest on November 30. We are honored to work and walk alongside you, Tanner!
