A Message from Troy

Dear Friend,
Grace changes everything. Without it, I would most certainly be dead or in prison. Almost every time I pray, I begin by thanking God for His grace. This reminds me that the hope I experience today is the direct result of His undeserved favor.
HopeQuest itself is evidence of God’s grace in my life, alongside my marriage, my family, and the recent blessing of our beautiful granddaughter. I am thankful I don’t have to earn His love; it is freely given. My heart overflows with gratitude for the forgiveness and restoration I have received.
Twice in my life I have been incredibly broken: first in 1986, while incarcerated in Houston, TX, and again in 1999, alone in a small efficiency apartment in Fresno, CA, feeling emptier and more hopeless than ever before. I was confronted with the painful consequences of my sin and the devastation I had caused to those I loved. It was God’s grace that met me in the midst of my shame.
This is the very foundation of HopeQuest, where sin, shame, and trauma collide with the gracious love of our Heavenly Father. We provide more than addiction treatment; we offer hope, lasting freedom, and the redemptive power of His grace that restores and makes all things new.
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

Recently, a client shared that HopeQuest is the place where the crushing weight of his sin was met by the amazing grace of God… and something beautiful is now taking root in his life.
As I write this message, my one-week-old granddaughter rests beside me. She is a living reminder of how God’s grace has changed my life. What an undeserved gift – a glimpse of the hope and future we have in Him!
My prayer is that you, too, will experience this same grace. Not because you’ve earned it, but because He loves you, is especially fond of you, and longs to transform your life in profound ways.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
