A Message from Troy

December 2025

Dear Friend,

Hope doesn’t just happen. It’s built. This is more than a popular slogan we’ve used since introducing our year-end giving campaign, Building Hope 2025. It’s a truth.

Everyone longs for hope, but it takes hard work to build it. A friend who is a HopeQuest alumnus messaged me last week reflecting on more than 16 years of hope and freedom since entering our residential program. He and his wife were on a special trip to celebrate 40 years of marriage, a milestone that would not have been possible without his time at HopeQuest. A foundation of hope was built 16 years ago and continues to produce freedom today!

This transformation did not come from wishful thinking, but from the hard work of engaging in treatment at HopeQuest, participating in counseling and groups, and inviting others to walk alongside him. Hope is strengthened through perseverance and God’s grace.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

– Romans 5:3-5 (NIV)

Looking back on this year at HopeQuest, several things come to mind regarding the hard work we put into building hope with others:

  • We will help more people this year than any other year in the history of HopeQuest.
  • Although we do not have a Director of Donor Development or a dedicated fundraising team, God has moved through the generosity of our supporters to bring about greater giving this year than at any point since COVID-19.
  • We go beyond what is typical in addiction treatment by focusing on the root causes. This includes a two-to-one clinical staff to client ratio that allows for meaningful and effective work.
  • We invest in two distinct staff roles – a Campus Pastor and a Spouse Supporting Therapist – because we believe spiritual growth and marital support are essential to lasting recovery.

Simply put, we work with purpose and invest deeply in the lives of those we serve to help build hope.

What takes place in December, including our year-end giving initiative, lays the foundation for the following year. Replenishing scholarship funds allows us to say yes to those who could not otherwise afford the Christ-centered, clinically effective care for which HopeQuest is known. Your partnership helps extend hope to others throughout 2026.

Double the Match

This year carries added momentum, thanks to the generosity of two HopeQuest donors who will match every gift given this month, up to $75,000. This opens the door for an even bigger impact for 2026. Indeed, hope is being built!

As I reflect on this year, I am incredibly grateful to God for His grace, as well as to you for your prayers, encouragement, and support. Without you, we could not carry out the work God has called us to do. Thank you for walking with us as we continue building hope together.

Grateful…
