A Story of Hope: Why Multi-Addiction Treatment Matters

“HopeQuest truly is different!” We never grow tired of hearing this from men and their families. Throughout the coming months, HopeQuest is highlighting the seven pillars that define The HopeQuest Difference. In June, we are spotlighting our Multi-Addiction Treatment approach and the importance of identifying and addressing multiple addictions simultaneously to support lasting recovery.

When Brandon arrived at HopeQuest in April 2020, he believed alcohol was his primary problem. Years of drinking had taken their toll, and the life he had worked so hard to build was beginning to unravel. What he did not realize at the time was that alcohol was only one piece of a much bigger puzzle. Beneath the addiction were decades of unresolved pain, unhealthy patterns, hidden behaviors, and wounds that had quietly shaped the course of his life. The journey that followed would challenge him in ways he never expected, but it would also lead him to a freedom he had never known before.

The Roots of Addiction

While Brandon grew up in a family that appeared successful on the outside, life behind closed doors was marked by significant dysfunction. As a teenager, he excelled in motocross racing and eventually competed on a nationally sponsored amateur Kawasaki team. At age 20, Brandon and his high school sweetheart, Jennifer, were beginning their life together as husband and wife and preparing to start a family. Yet, during a racing trip to South America, Brandon was introduced to cocaine, setting in motion a years-long battle with addiction. What began with cocaine eventually progressed to methamphetamine and heroin. Though he managed to maintain the appearance of stability, addiction gradually tightened its grip on every area of his life. Before long, Jennifer confronted him, and Brandon entered treatment through an intensive outpatient program. He describes that season as a turning point in his relationship with Christ and the beginning of his recovery from drugs. Still, deeper issues remained untouched. “I let go of some things,” Brandon recalls. “But I never let go of all of it.” [READ MORE]

Troy & Melissa Haas to Present at National Conference

HopeQuest is honored to participate in this year’s Hope for Healing Conference, taking place June 25–27 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Hosted by Lit Path, the three-day event brings together clinicians, ministry leaders, coaches, and helping professionals to address Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD), betrayal trauma, and relational healing.

As part of the conference, HopeQuest’s Troy and Melissa Haas will serve as featured presenters, sharing insights from their decades of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate addiction and recovery. We are grateful to collaborate with professionals who share a commitment to healing and restoration.

A Double Celebration

On June 18, Amelia Hanesworth will celebrate six years with HopeQuest! As our Assistant Director of Admissions, Amelia approaches every interaction with dedication and a heart for helping others.

This milestone comes shortly after another exciting achievement: Amelia recently graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree. We are delighted to celebrate all she has accomplished!

HopeQuest welcomed TWENTY new clients in May! These individuals entered care through our residential treatment, High-Intensity Outpatient (HIOP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and outpatient counseling programs. Behind every number is a person taking a significant step toward hope and lasting freedom through Christ. Please join us in praying for these individuals as they begin the work of recovery.
