Why HopeQuest?
HopeQuest exists in order to be an instrument in the process of helping individuals repair lives, restore families, and to replenish their communities with strong relationships, active workers, and future leaders. The Quest for Hope begins with intentional structure and direction. HopeQuest provides the structure and direction needed to help persons successfully accomplish life transformation processs.
The published (http://www.bettyfordcenter.org/programs/index.php) rate for a 90-day treatment program at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA is $42,000. This is a fairly representative rate for the cost of a 90-day treatment program at other residential treatment centers. The staff and leadership at The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. believe $42,000 is beyond the reach of many families.
In addition, we believe that the ministry programs at HopeQuest are significantly different in the following ways:
1. The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. provides the opportunity for Christian medical, psychological, and psychiatric professionals to work collaboratively, on a volunteer basis, on the treatment teams of participants in the ministry programming at HopeQuest.
2. The Partners in Hope at The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. make it possible for the ministry programs to be offered at an affordable cost to most families. This is possible through the contributions of Partners which greatly subsidize the cost of the program offerings at HopeQuest.
3. Because we are a Christian ministry, we try to provide scholarships for families and individuals that can demonstrate true hardship cases and who are not able to afford the program fees related to their treatment needs. However, at the present time, the economic condition in the United States has affected HopeQuest and we do not have scholarship funds and resources to help with program fees are not available. We do have some helpful ideas on how to help potential clients raise needed funds for the program fees. Please feel free to discuss this with our Director of Applications and Admissions.
4 Other than the intensive treatment programs (the TREK Program, the InStep Program, and the ReMix Program), all other ministry program offerings at The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. are made available at no cost to the client.
5. The ministry programs at HopeQuest are founded on a biblically based value system and are thoroughly influenced by a Judeo- Christian worldview and treatment philosophy.
6. Many Christian based recovery programs focus only on the spiritual nature of the addiction. The leadership and staff at HopeQuest believe that while this is the highest priority in the treatment process, it is also necessary to incorporate those elements of the treatment process for addictions that have been proven by the psychological, psychiatric, and medical communities as necessary for successful recovery.
7. Many ministry programs that offer help for addiction recovery are focused on the homeless and jobless populations; which in reality are only a subset of the entire community of people who have been influenced by or suffer from addictive concerns. The ministry programming at HopeQuest provides a more comprehensive, balanced, and focused approach concerning the possible needs of those who struggle with addictions.
8. The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. is one of the few organizations, nationally, that offers assistance for three distinctive problem areas: alcohol abuse, substance abuse, and sexual brokenness. In addition, the TREK Program (our residential offering) specializes in clients who suffer with comorbid mental health concerns (dual-diagnosis).
9. The professional staff at HopeQuest are professing Christians, and believe not only that it is possible, but necessary to live their Judeo- Christian convictions - even in the context of the clinical treatment program setting.
10. The ministry programming at HopeQuest has been able to maintain its distinctively Judeo-Christian philosophy and biblically based value system while also incorporating the needed elements of psychological theory and medical knowledge that help to understand the addictive personality, it’s developmental pathway, and the clinical skills that assist in breaking through denial, handling client resistance, building a therapeutic relationship with the client, and discipling them through the transformation and change (recovery) process.
11. With the collaborative efforts of our professional clinicians who volunteer on our treatment teams and in our ministry program leadership roles, The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. is able to provide the multifaceted and comprehensive set of ministry programs designed to meet not only the needs of the individual, but also the spouse, the marriage, and the family (including children). Many professional programs break down at this particular point because of the overwhelming cost of the professional clinical staff needed to provide for various and different needs in the treatment process of the individuals and their families.
12. Finally, the leadership, staff, and volunteers at The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. believe they have been called by God to serve in their capacity at HopeQuest. It is not a job, it is a calling. Because of this, the leadership, staff, and volunteers share the compassionate loving heart of God in meeting the needs of broken and wounded people.
The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. desires to assist individuals, couples, and families with multiple life dominating issues by offering men, women and adolescents spiritual guidance through biblical training while implementing empirically proven treatment strategies by trained professionals. In addition, it is our desire to offer these programs utilizing methods which are implemented in residential and non-residential settings at an affordable cost to participants.
