Evaluation & Treatment
It’s Two Different Problems!
If you have been charged with a DUI (Driving Under the Influence), you have two problems to deal with:
1. The criminal charge with the state – which will be handled in court, and
2. Your suspended Driver’s License – which will be dealt with through the Department of Driver Services.
What You Need To Know
What You Need To Do
As you go through the following required processes, be sure to keep up with all of the certificates and paper work that is given to you as part of your work with various professionals, agencies, and schools. This will make life much simpler for you in the end!
Find a DUI School near you and complete their process.
Find a Clincal Evaluator near you and make an appointment to go through their evaluation process. Georgia law requires that you have the freedom to make a personal choice concerning who you would like to youse as your Clinical Evaluator. You will need a Needs Assessment report which is one of the things you will complete in your DUI School. Your DUI School is required by law to mail this Needs Assessment report directly to your chosen Clinical Evaluator.
Note: On the website for choosing a Clinical Evaluator, be sure to select ‘Clinical Evaluator’ on the Group selection.
If your Clinical Evaluator determines that you need to receive treatment, then find a Treatment Provider near you. Again, Georgia law requires that you be given a choice concerning your Treatment Provider.
Note: On the website for choosing a Treatment Provider, be sure to select ‘Treatment Provider’ on the Group selection.
